And just like that, the new school year is upon us and fall is around the corner. Late July, the local Spirit Halloween store opened back up for the Halloween season! I could not believe it. Let's have some respect for summer. Speaking of summer, it has been feeling VERY summery. Stay cool this month, everyone.

Home Improvement 101 - Back-to-School Reset

Back to school time, whether you have children going to school, is a transitional period that makes it ideal for a reset. Here are my favorite ways to reset your home either before the new school year starts or just some time during this transition from summertime to school time:

1. Start with clean linens: toss bedding, towels, throw pillows, reusable lunch bags, etc. in the wash

2. Restock cleaning supplies

3. Declutter: focus on high traffic areas and do this before any deep cleaning

4. Get baskets and labeling items to organize school papers, clothes closets & drawers for socks & shirts, and bathroom staples like hair ties & headbands

5. Grocery: stock up on healthy, easy snacks & try to meal prep a couple of meals on Sunday night to make the week a bit smoother
